Bridal Showers

Who doesn’t like to be showered!? A Bridal Shower is the time for friends and family to shower their loved one with gifts and good luck wishes for her big day. It’s also a time for the bride to soak in all the love! But, just as any other wedding festivity, the bridal shower requires planning and organization in order to be successful! Read below for the most important parts of planning a bridal shower.

Timing-bridal showers are usually held within 2 months to 2 weeks before the wedding day. This gives you time to plan out your guests and gift registry. But it’s also one of the last steps before your big day and the excitement is real! Typically the maid of honor plans the bridal shower so you will want to coordinate with each other to decide on the timing of the event. The bridal shower is the time for you to have some quality time and celebrations with your closest ladies before the big day!

Guests-similar to the engagement party, you want to make sure you only invite people who are also invited to the wedding! Typically bridal showers are just for the girls however, it’s more and more common today to have a boy and girl or “Jack and Jill” themed bridal shower, simply called a wedding shower. This is a fun way to let the groom and all the men in on the fun. Either way, the wedding shower is more exclusive than the wedding and consists of your closest friends and family!

Gifts-make sure you register at your favorite store(s) in plenty of time for your guests to shower you with gifts! With your wedding and honeymoon coming up you want to make sure you’re not dealing with returns and exchanges. Registering for your gifts makes things easier on your guests and makes sure you get the wedding gifts you want for you and your husband!

theme

Theme-some bridal showers have themes so the host can decorate and choose food accordingly. This is a fun way to really spice up the party and have a fun time with the girls. Picking a theme should be something that falls in line with the bride’s personality and something she and the rest of the guests will enjoy! Maybe a brunch theme with endless mimosas, or a fiesta night…maybe even a tropical theme…the ideas are endless!

remember

Remember, the bridal shower is a great way to relax and unwind from all of the wedding planning. This is a day to focus on celebrating the upcoming day and cherishing the times with your friends and family before you become a married woman! Don’t let the stress get to you, thoughtful planning and organization will make for a smooth and successful bridal shower, and you’re almost there!
